An alumnus of the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, FL, Tyler Allen graduated with honors and holds a bachelor of science in computer science. Before attending UF, Mr. Allen obtained an associate of arts and an associate of science in programming and analysis from Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL. Throughout his college career, Mr. Allen maintained a consistent presence on the dean’s list.
Mr. Allen functioned as a research assistant at both Santa Fe College and UF. His research efforts were primarily focused on ways in which gamification can improve engineering education. Utilizing his diverse programming knowledge, he developed software and hardware applications to promote student engagement in the learning process.
Mr. Allen’s interest in computer science is not merely academic; a video game enthusiast, he enjoys designing games in addition to playing them. When he is not focused on his studies or research activities, his personal interests range from camping to live theater.
